Preparation: Before applying the epoxy paint onto your garage floor - it needs to be cleaned and then meticulously dried. The cleaning process is very important to achieve the perfect result and it includes the following steps:
•Sweeping all dust and dirt that may come from the outside or your car. If the floor is not properly sweeped it may have a very bad effect later on, as the paint can peal off if it is not applied on a clean, smooth concrete surface.
•Removing all the stains from the floor. You should use diluted bleach to thoroughly to clean the concrete. Bleach removes all those stubborn stains, just spray the specific areas where the stains are present and then use a rough bristle brush to scrub them off.
•Check all for cracks and chips. To obtain the desired effect the surface of the floor needs to be smooth so make sure all the cracks are filled before applying the paint.
Temperature: The temperature of the floor and the air are also very important and if this step is pass over you will end up with paint that does not adhere to the concrete. In order to ensure the quality of the garage floor epoxy layer the temperature range needs to be from 60 to 80 degrees. The role of the temperature is to make the material spread uniformly across the garage floor.
