Durability

Because of its structure and the installation method, engineering floors are considered to be one of the most durable products on the market.

Structure: Engineered hardwood is actual, genuine wood. The only difference is related to the internal structure of it. Engineered flooring products are structured by combing various types of wood and wood grades under heat and pressure. The combination consists of three or more layers, with a real hardwood top layer which ranges from 0.6mm to 5mm thick. The thickness of the top layer (wear layer) extends their life span for several generations; e.g. engineered floors with a 3-5mm hardwood top layer can be sanded and refinished 5-8 times; hardwood flooring with a wear layer of 2mm can be sanded and refinished 1-2 times extending their life span to approximately 25years. It is not recommended to sand and refinish floor products that have less than 2mm of top hardwood layer.

Installation: Installing engineered flooring is a fairly easy process, in fact a homeowner can even try it as a diy (do it yourself) project. Engineered floors share the same tongue and groove locking system as the floating floors; which easily links one plank of wood into another with minimum effort required. Engineering hardwood floors are designed to be glued directly to the sub floor, however many engineering floors can be also nailed down. Before installing the floors make sure you you have all the tools required for this project such as; engineered hardwood flooring, measuring tape, floor underlayment and a circular saw. As always safety is a very important priority, so be sure to have safety goggles, gloves and proper shoes before starting any diy projects.

Practicality:
Engineered hardwood flooring is designed to perform supreme practicality and can truly suit all kinds of spaces. Because of the internal structure the homeowner can enjoy the following advantages this product has to offer:
• Ideal for any geographical area! This type of flooring is resistant to different weather conditions, extreme temperature, and less likely to be effected by humidity changes.
• Do not expand or contract with severe temperature changes
• Can be installed on any level of your house from the basement to the attic, and even in the bathroom, despite the presence of moisture
• Can be installed over the existing floor such as floor tiles, concrete and other flooring products
• Can be installed over underfloor radiant heat

Style:
Most interior design experts are amazed at the rapid popularity of this product. Engineering hardwood products have revolutionized the flooring fashion. With the overwhelming style options starting from the traditional oak to the most exotic wood appearance, assuring that a homeowner will always be able to find the ideal style to perfectly blend into the decor of the living space.
